of Science
in Nuclear Fusion
and Engineering Physics

The European Master of Science in Nuclear Fusion and Engineering Physics (FUSION-EP) is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) funded by the European Union. Focusing on the physics and technology of nuclear fusion as an energy source, it offers research-oriented education in engineering physics, offered by a consortium of eight European universities.

The application files are being evaluated by the Steering Committee.

NEW: From the next academic year 2025-2026 onwards, the two tracks - Fusion Science and Fusion Engineering - will be available from the first master year (M1). Each track will be taught at a different M1 site.

NB: Erasmus Mundus scholarships will not be available for students starting in 2025.

FUSION-EP is evolving!

To align the FUSION-EP curriculum with recent evolutions in the field, a number of changes will be implemented starting from the upcoming academic year 2025-2026. This involves both the choice of track and the mobility scheme. Read all about it in the Programme section.
NEW STUDENT COHORT STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 2024

FUSION TECHNOLOGY TEXTBOOK

A new textbook "Fundamentals of Magnetic Fusion Technology" has just been published by the IAEA. The editor is the founding father of the FUSION-EP programme, Prof. Guido Van Oost. The book can be downloaded or ordered via the button below.
